IRISH SILVER FORKS

Pair of Irish Silver Table Forks by Patrick Moore with a Boar's Head Engraving - George IV 1829

These Irish Georgian .925 silver forks are fully hallmarked and have an impressive boar's head engraved on their handles.

They were made by the renound Dublin silversmith Patrick Moore in 1829. They include the "M WEST" retail mark for Matthew West. Both forks are fully hallmarked for Dublin and weigh 134 grams.

They are approximately 20 cm or just under 8" long.

The hallmarks include the Hibernia mark, the harp crowned, the George IV duty mark, the date letters the maker's mark and "M WEST" retailer's mark.

These should sell for roughly £100 each or £200 for the pair.

Irish George III .925 silver forks byJohn Power

These Irish George III sterling silver forks are fully hallmarked and are in good condition for their age. They have patina commensurate with items over 200 years old.

They were made by the renound Dublin silversmith John Power in 1806. Both forks are fully hallmarked for Dublin and weigh 140 gms. They have an impressive engraving of a hand grasping a broken spear on the handle of each fork.

They are approximately 8" long.

The hallmarks include the Hibernia mark, the harp crowned, the date letter "K", and the maker's mark.

Like the Patrick Moore forks, I estimate these forks by John Power should sell for £200 for the pair (..or more in a major London auction house).

Silver Forks from Regency England

These Georgian .925 silver table forks were made by the  London silversmiths Josiah & George Piercy during the Regency period. The forks have an engraved monogram on the rear of their handles, which adds to their charm and history.

Both forks are fully hallmarked and are in good condition. They have patina commensurate with items of this age - in this case, knife marks on the forks' tines.

Georgian Forks with a Rare Anchor Engraving

These Georgian sterling silver table forks are fully hallmarked and are in great condition for their age. They were made by the renound London silversmith Jonathan Hayne in 1825.

They have an impressive engraving of an anchor on the handle of each fork, which I believe to be the family crest of the historic grey family.

The forks are fully hallmarked and weigh about 142 gms. The hallmarks include the George IV duty mark, the date letter "k", the London leopard, the lion passant and the maker's mark (JH).

They have patina commensurate with items of this age (knife marks on the forks' tines - as shown below).
